I should not attempt projects on my own

So since my car decided to stop working on me, I decided to try and jump start it. Which if you want to know, it didn't work out. I think I need a new starter. I know it's nothing too big. Anyway, I accidently dropped the hood of my car on my arm, and the above picture is the result of the incident. Yes, I am a hazard to myself! Oh, and about 2 hours later, while making cookies for John, I burned the same arm on the oven! Yes, life is great...............

The Kids I Watch

Here I am with the kids I watch. They are so awesome, and hilarious! I love them sooo much!

My NO LONGER trusted Honda

So, my trusted Honda Civic decided it no longer wants to start. Today I went out to get into my car, and it wouldn't turn on. Just what I need right now! Why do things wait to go wrong until John leaves? It always happens that way! Well, I guess this is another growing experience that I can add to my list. I think my list is starting to get too long! I'm done with growing experiences (at least for the time being).

Trip to DC in September

So last month, I got to drive up to the DC area, where my cousin and his family live. It was good to get out of the house, and go see some family. Pudger discovered his favorite spot in the house very quickly.

John's hike up Mount Fuji in Japan

So John's platoon got to climb Mount Fuji a week ago. John said it was horrible though because it was raining, and super windy. But I'm glad he's getting to see Japan! I miss him soo much!

John's SRT days at Camp Pendleton

So I was going through old pictures today, and I came across pics of John when he was on the SWAT team at Camp Pendleton. John misses those days soooo much! He loved it out there!
I also came across pictures from when he did that special for the Discovery Channel. I don't know if you guys ever saw all these pictures.

Paula Deen/Girls Day Out

So on Saturday, I got to go see Paula Deen. She was doing a cooking show here in our area, and the USO was offering super cheap tickets. So I decided..what the heck. So, two of my friends and I went, and we had a blast! Not only was it good just to get out of the house, but Paula Deen is hilarious. Her husband cooked, while she told jokes for 2 hours! Of course, I will probably never cook anything of hers, since all her recipes have enough butter to kill someone! Her food is delicious though!

Our trip to Georgia

So John got a few days off before his deployment. We got to go down to Georgia to visit our family. We had soo much fun! We loved spending time with some family. We also got to go tour Savannah, GA (of course we got stuck in the middle of the Tropical Storm). We also got to go see Charleston, SC. Oh, and while we were in Savannah, we got to go to Paula Deen's restaurant. The only bad part was having to come back home and resume normal life!

Spoiled Dog

This is Pudger's favorite spot in the house so he can stare out the window and bark at EVERYONE in sight! Can you tell he's bugging me right now?

Jam making

I know........I know..........whoever thought they would see the day when I, Ashley, would be making homemade jam? Actually, it's freezer jam, so it's a lot easier to make. But still! John begged me into making it, and he devoured a whole jar in 2 days! It really is delicious! If I would have known it was sooo easy to make, I would have started making this stuff years ago!

Independence Day in Virginia Beach

We went to Mt. Trashmore in Virginia Beach to see the fireworks. YES, you heard me right! MT. TRASHMORE! Apparently it is called that because it used to be a landfill. A little disgusting I know! It still grosses me out thinking about it. But at least we got to see fireworks. A lot of the shows in our area got cancelled due to heavy rain. Of course, the firework show was 20 minutes, and then we sat in the car for 2 HOURS waiting to get out of the parking lot! Oh well. We had fun anyway!

I planted a tomato plant from seed earlier this spring, and my first tomato has finally appeared! I'm soooo proud of myself!

YW's Girls Camp 2008

So I got to go to Girls Camp this year as the ward camp director! It was awesome, except the heat and bugs! Let's see.....it got up to 103 degrees, and there were ticks and mosquitos everywhere. But I had a blast! I saw lightning bugs for the first time (fireflies), and I got to spend time with some amazing YW. Some of the branches out here only have 1 YW. It's crazy to me! But they are such amazing girls! John made me take this handy dandy fanny pack with me. Of course I didn't wear it, but the girls wanted me to take a picture with it on! So I agreed! Aren't I styling?

Memorial Day 2008/Willamsburg

So, for Memorial Day we went to Willamsburg with our friends. It was a blast. They had the whole place open up free to the Military for the day. Nothing beats free!

John's home!!!!

Well, John came home last month. We've been so busy, I haven't really had a chance to take any pictures. Here are a few though that I've taken recently! As you can see, Pudger missed John. One of the pictures is a picture of our street after the tornado hit, and the other one is of the ocean over here.
